My Father’s Belt: a poem

My Father’s Belt

I can never forgive my father whose stifled belt built my ego………

and never forgive myself for denying who I am.

I step into his void without a floor and floored I wonder where I’ll land

screaming Ave Maria with Shubert by my side.

Heaven help if ever I’ll ever be heard……………………………………………..

Daniel William Concharty
