Two Poems by Idalìs

Piedra da a luz a una rosa (inspired by Tupac Shakur)

for I am the rose that grew from concrete

from concrete I grew from

depth of the crack from

concrete made it out of darkness

went against nature for I

revel my beauty I blossom

kept my dreams close

bound by this miracle I learn

to be alive and long forever

live not just as a rose but the

rose that grew from concrete

The Real Woman Inside of Me

The real woman inside of me can paint

a picture with words for I have

emerged the ability to transform

my lyrical words into a master

piece  I spill the emotions and thoughts

of inner soul the real woman inside

of me can visualize the art

in literature expanding the

wonder and excitement

in poetry building a whole another

world that I can only understand

with a simple paper and pen see

the universe from my perspective

with no judgement the real

woman inside of me can tell a

story with my writing letters are

more than just a scribble on a piece

of paper my pen is the tool that

creates the fine painting into

the beauty that is being demonstrated

my paper becomes the drawing

board where I lay my outline

the real woman inside of me

sees and recognizes the power of

poetry how a poet can make

their words come alive and

take your mind into a whole another

world the real woman inside of me

lives among my inner soul the real woman

inside of me will always live.
