Painted Brain creates lasting community-based solutions to mental health challenges and the impact of social injustice through arts, advocacy, and enterprise. Social media is one of the main ways we bring this about.

Painted Brain starting in 2015 began implementing a social media team to manage its Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest pages. The growth the past year reached nearly 1800% in some areas.

In 2016, Painted Brain began the 6-week academy series on photojournalism, journalistic writing, interviewing techniques, and social media marketing. Since then we have looked for ways to engage our online community in ways that further our aims of blending arts advocacy and community solutions in an inclusive and interactive way.

As a result we have created a course series on social media marketing. We aim to teach aspiring mental health bloggers and activists to amplify the power of their voice by growing a online community using cutting edge tools and techniques.

We also help other nonprofits interested in starting or building upon an existing social media campaign.
