OVERVIEW
Painted Brain is an Approved Training Vendor through CalMHSA’s Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification Program, providing the 80-hour Per Support Certification Training since 2022 when the curriculum was overhauled to meet training requirements and make it simple for students to study for their certification exam.
Our revamped curriculum has 17 modules, each corresponding to a different Core Competency to simplify studying.
What is Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification Training?
Our Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification Training program was developed and is taught by people with lived experience.
This vital training prepares students to deliver valuable behavioral health support services by covering the Peer Support Specialist 17 Core Competencies required for Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification Training through self-reflection, skill building, practice sessions, and guided group exploration.
Through personal storytelling, we bring a message of hope and inspiration to audiences ranging from high school to graduate school students, mental health consumers to policymakers and community leaders.
