The mission of our Solo Artist Exhibition Program is to exemplify Painted Brain’s commitment to job creation and social enterprise. This program supports artists who experience mental health challenges by giving them an integral job experience as a professional working artist.
Throughout the process of creating a solo show, each artist receives support and guidance in all areas of progression, from concept to art creation to the formal opening.
Such support includes but is not limited to occupational therapists, on-staff social workers, art and creative guidance from the art director, social media exposure and marketing, art supplies, and studio space to make the work.
At the Painted Brain community center our featured artists also have the added benefit of being in a community of artists and mental health advocates, enabling them to thrive as artists and as individuals.
The Solo Artist Exhibition Program will work with and feature a new artist every 3-4 months.
