We’ll provide an overview of all three of our training programs, designed to help you build the skills and knowledge needed to make an impact as a Peer Support Specialist:

Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist (CMPSS) 80-Hour Training
This program covers the 17 Core Competencies required for certification in California, including cultural competency, engagement strategies, and ethics.
Cost: $1,600 (scholarships available for California residents).
MediCal Peer Support Specialist Interest FormÂ
Continuing Education – Law & Ethics 6-Hour Training
For those already certified, this course meets the biannual 6-hour recertification requirement in Law and Ethics and reinforces legal and ethical practices.
Cost: $150 per student. $25 per credit hour
Continuing Education with Law & Ethics Interest FormÂ
Peer Services for Justice-Involved Specialization (40-Hour Training)
This specialization focuses on working with justice-involved individuals, covering topics like recidivism risk factors, cultural responsiveness, and community reintegration. This also qualifies for the 20 hours of Continuing Education and the 6 hours of Law and Ethics for the biannual recertification of CMPSS in California.
Cost: $950 per student. Currently, there are no scholarships available for Justice-Involved Specialization but we do accept self-pay, employer pay, or CalMHSA vouchers.Â
