Painted Brain – Pastry & Paint Scope of Work
Position Title: Bilingual (Spanish/English) Artist Facilitator
Project Name: Pastry & PaintÂ
Project Overview:
Painted Brain is hosting two Pastry & Paint events aimed at facilitating the creation of individual self-portraits for a group of up to 40 participants each. These events focus on therapeutic art practices, incorporating relaxation, mindfulness, and self-care learning activities to support mental wellness. Caregivers will participate in these activities and learn how to integrate them into their routines to prevent burn-out.
Contractor Responsibilities:
The Independent Contractor will be responsible for the following:
- Event Facilitation:
- Lead a step-by-step self-portrait painting activity for up to 40 participants.
- Provide guidance in both English and Spanish, ensuring all participants can fully engage in the activity.
- Engagement & Instruction:
- Create a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
- Demonstrate techniques and assist participants as needed with the use of acrylic paint, pencils, and 8 x 10 canvases.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with Painted Brain staff to ensure the smooth running of the event.
- Arrive on time for both events, ready to set up, facilitate, and break down the activity.
- Event Dates & Locations:
- September 26, 2024, at Rio Hondo College, 3017 Tyler Ave, El Monte, CA 91731.
- October 24, 2024, at LA Trade Tech College, 400 West Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015.
- Both events will run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, including set-up and breakdown.
Materials Provided:
All materials (acrylic paint, pencils, canvases, etc.) will be provided by Painted Brain. The contractor will not need to supply any additional materials.
Contract Term:
The contract covers two event dates as specified above. The contractor will be compensated for each event separately.
Compensation:
The Independent Contractor will be compensated $150 per event. Total compensation for both events will be $300.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading art workshops or similar activities.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English.
- Ability to work with diverse groups, particularly in therapeutic or educational settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Reporting:
The contractor will report directly to Alfred Coles, Program Coordinator, Painted Brain, and will coordinate with Painted Brain staff for event-related matters.
Payment Terms:
Payment of $150 per event will be processed within 30 days upon completion of each event, pending receipt of an invoice from the contractor.
Pre-Event Requirements:
The Independent Contractor is required to:
- Sign an agreed-upon contract outlining the terms and responsibilities detailed in this scope of work.
- Submit a completed W-9 form prior to the commencement of services.
Confidentiality:
The contractor agrees to maintain confidentiality of all participant information and any sensitive details related to the event.
Termination Clause:
Either party may terminate this agreement with 30 days’ notice if the terms of the contract are not met.
